Thanks, Guido.  So, in your system you have the DSpeaker connected to
your pre amp and then you go from the DSpeaker into your Music Reference
amp, right?  And do you use just the RCA ins and outs on the DSpeaker
for those connections?

I'm trying to figure out if it everything would still work properly if I
connected the RCA outs of the Benchmark (which I essentially use as a
dac/pre) to the DSpeaker and then the RCA outs from the DSpeaker to my
amp?   if there's a better way to do this, please advise.
