I've been using squeezelite on various boards (rPi2, pogoplug E02,
odroid C2, nexthing CHIP) and I'm still figuring out an "optimal"
sounding combo.

Each board has it's quirks on USB dac connectivity, and I've found that
the buffer setting on squeezelite has different effect depending on
which board I use. Most recently I've come to an anecdotal conclusion
that buffer time of 30-40msec (e.g. squeezelite -a 35) works "best"(?)
with the pogo, C2 and CHIP. I gave up on the rPi as it just won't play
smoothly with my dacs.

Even more recently I came across an old Jive/squeezeplay thread that
suggested a buffer combo that may be optimal for 44.1/48/96kHz sample
rates, in the sense that it minimizes interrupts on the card. Google
"alsa max buffer jive".

Based on this I'm now trying squeezelite -a 92790:4, and it seems to be
a buffer setting that works well with the cards mentioned. You might
want to try this.
