Thanks to Scott Lewis for compiling this report:
Well, a very pleasant weekend of flying was had by all.
Both days were remarkably similar, dawning clear with an eventual maximum of
around 22 degrees. Thermals were difficult to find, the day cycling regularly
throughout both days (the difference between getting a thermal and not was about
20-30 minutes on both days).
Those that did manage to find the elusive thermals reported climbs of 4 knots
to 4,500 feet, followed by rapid descents through heavy sink as they left the
thermals.
Large crowds on both days kept ground crew busy with a high turnover of aircraft,
34 flights on Saturday and 31 flights on Sunday.
Several new members were gained, three signing up with the club and the Sports
Association on the spot.
Stats for the Weekend---------------------
