Speaking of fun, at Monarto we had the Model Jets doing one of their
airshows at their field about 10km from our strip.
I had the opportunity to waft just outside the NOTAM boundary at cloudbase
and watch Chris Sperou smoke the Pitts from ground level to 3000' in
interesting attitudes, as well as various 300kph turbine models big enough
to embarrass everyone if a proper airplane strayed into the modellers' air
volume.
(Yes David I still remember you looping a radio control model around me on
finals into Lochiel one day).
The big laugh of the day is to watch the return traffic from such events
arrive at the Monarto interchange to the South Eastern freeway only to
realise there are no ramps there to get on. (he,he)
(Watch Johnny get confused, watch Johnny park across the road, watch Johnny
do ten point turn, watch Johnny get confused again, etc.)
