This mailing list does more to harm the image of gliding than it does to
improve it!!!

I was once a member of several mailing lists- one like this one for
mountain bikers. I was a freelance writer and photographer employed by
several magazine's in Australia and o/s. The list was a great way for us to
discuss the pros and cons of our chosen sport. The list was moderated by one
John Stevenson (world renowned cycling author and editor of Aust Mountain
Bike magazine). John was / is a the guiding force (moderator) behind what I
believe is the most useful mailing list of its type in the world. Why-
because he believes in freedom of speech until that freedom allows personal
attacks. He will allow critisism but not of individuals. It is about time
such rules were adopted by this list. One personal attack and u get a
warning, two and ur temporarily suspended, three and you are out. That's the
way it works on John's list. "Not terribly democratic" I hear some say. No
maybe not but a damn sight better than this crap we have to put up with.
Guys, you all have good points, make them and leave it at that!
