Oh dear, such aggression and on Christmas Eve as well! The point is that there has NOT been a gliding club near Perth for many years and that it closed down for very good reasons.
The probability of a few pilots getting a gliding operation going near Perth in our current regulatory environment are almost nil. And even if they did the inevitable height restrictions would make the gliding activity pointless. If you used to drive from Perth to all these Clubs in 1977 you would now find that it now takes more than twice as long to get out of Perth than it did in your day. So the point is that you cannot include WA as one of your cosy areas where pilots can fly for a day and nip home. WA is similar to Melbourne and Sydney in relation to the time glider pilots need to dedicate to their flying activity. How about for the New Year you drop the aggression to those whose views differ from yours ie "What is your point if indeed you have one" and whilst you are writing down your New Year resolutions could you possibly include one to reduce the level of "GFA bashing" in your postings. Some of your postings are worth reading but when they degenerate into GFA Bashing one tends to hit the Delete button and not even get to some of the points that you are trying to make.
