OK fair enough Ian. I did not remember that XIF had been refinished.

I must admit I have flown SZD55 Mark Lairds "IF" in comps and it was excellent and is underrated. Would prefer to see a solid plate rather than velcro cloth behind you.  All I can say Lairdy had a bump which he removed when he refinished the glider and am not sure if it came back.  The factory team gave excellent service when Lairdy had trouble with airbrakes opening when flying "IF" in Sweeden.  They fixed several things up totally for free!!
