Hmmm. I wondered when someone would raise that. It seems that non-original springs are fairly widely used.

In fact, I would suggest, that no Blanik has been flying in Australia for the last 20+ years with original springs. They simply haven't been obtainable. Certainly all our Blanik springs at Balak had been copies for decades, as are the few we have left.

I have been advised by someone who would really know these things that deep within the CASA regulations, something like "self-approval" for non-OEM parts has been discovered by someone wanting to use automotive parts on a Dimona because the originals were no longer available. That little snippet of information could prove quite useful when the details have been teased out.
