Just where did Nigel say that such an antenna was /*required*/? For some gliders this /*may*/ be the only option (although I doubt it) but (as a FLARM owner) I have not been told I will have to change from my current antenna to a new, transparent one!

I do not see any change to the affordability of FLARM. When an ADS-B add on becomes available (and enough of the GA fleet has ADS-B), I suspect I'll buy one, but that does not change the base cost of FLARM. As for the cost of FLARM to higher end GA aircraft (because they have to penetrate the pressure cabin to mount an external aerial), that is hardly the fault of FLARM is it?
