G'Day Mike, and all, I repeat - the HP14 does not appear in the list of gliders permitted by IGC to fly in International Club Class competition. It is therefore NOT permitted in International Club Class competition under current IGC rules, regardless of its performance.
Following a vote in favour of splitting the Club Class at the pilots meeting, Sports Committee decided to action that decision by adopting the IGC definition of Club Class. Part of the reasoning was that this would be the range of gliders that pilots competing internationally in Club Class would face. The Australian handicaps do not conform 100% to the European handicaps. There are several gliders, at each end of the scale, which would be included or excluded if Sports Committee had chosen to base Club Class eligibility on an Australian handicap range rather than the IGC definition.
