Thanks to all who responded. I thought the mere mention of Mac would produce a Mac verses Windows debate and I wasn't wrong. I wasn't being provocative!
My current simple need is to be able to view on my Mac at home, Seeyou data downloaded from a logger to a Windows computer at Lake Keepit. Crossover claims to run Seeyou, but none of the other gliding programs. It has the advantage of not needing the Windows operating system. Mike's suggestion of a cheap notebook is a good pragmatic solution, but it would be another bit of hardware to handle and I would have to learn something about using Windows. I have got on very well with a Mac since I started using computers in early 90s and am keen to KISS. I think we can now close this sometimes heated correspondence!
