Actually, no, I did not think "Lord Captain Commander" was an actual

I'm volatile, but I'm not an idiot.
There is, however, some truth to all humor. There must be a reason for
this
"title" that suggests the owner has some power.
I offered previously to resign from OOoAuthors, and Jean has kindly
suggested
(offline) that I do so. I shall.

Your confrontational style of writing is too disruptive at
OOoAuthors; it may not be sure a problem at Docs.

You seemed to seriously think that "Lord Captain Commander" was an
actual title and position, and that it supported the conclusion that
Daniel's word was not to be questioned. Even if I didn't know what
little I do about OpenOffice.org's governance, I think that title
would strike me as hyperbole, even if I didn't catch the joke.

Jean,
I have an amazing sense of humor. Indeed, I would be very interested
to know what
makes you think I don't. How would I know that Chad was joking (or
wrong)?
Best regards,
Lou

Lou, apparently you have no sense of humour. Chad was clearly
joking about the "Lord Captain Commander". Also, Chad is wrong
about "head of OOoAuthors"; Chad gets a lot of things wrong.

And if I can take just a bit more of your time - I'd like to

Daniel.
Daniel Carrera has served in many roles here at OpenOffice.org -
he's the
head of OOoAuthors, the Lord Captain Commander of
OpenOffice.org (ding)
(otherwise known as the Community Council Representative), has
helped create
installers on operating systems he doesn't even use, and much,
much
more.
Daniel's efforts to promote and enhance OpenOffice.org have
been too
many to
mention, and I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you Daniel!

I had not realized that there was a "head of OOoAuthors", let
alone a "Lord Captain Commander"
of anything. I thought we were a group of volunteers, with each
opinions weighted equally. I
see now that I was wrong. There is clearly a well-established
chain of command here, and
I will not bend to it. Had I known that Daniel was an authority
not to be questioned ("the decision
/is/ made", when of course he meant "the decision /has been/
made"), I would never
have volunteered my time. I had hoped I could help, but I see now
that I can't. Que lastima.
I still believe OpenOffice is a great product, and I will continue
to use and support it, and help
where I can.
Best regards,
Lou
