You seemed to seriously think that "Lord Captain Commander" was an
actual title and position, and that it supported the conclusion that
Daniel's word was not to be questioned. Even if I didn't know what
little I do about OpenOffice.org's governance, I think that title would
strike me as hyperbole, even if I didn't catch the joke.

head of OOoAuthors, the Lord Captain Commander of OpenOffice.org

(otherwise known as the Community Council Representative), has
helped create
installers on operating systems he doesn't even use, and much, much
more.
Daniel's efforts to promote and enhance OpenOffice.org have been
too
many to
mention, and I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you Daniel!

I had not realized that there was a "head of OOoAuthors", let alone
a "Lord Captain Commander"
of anything. I thought we were a group of volunteers, with each
opinions weighted equally. I
see now that I was wrong. There is clearly a well-established chain
of command here, and
I will not bend to it. Had I known that Daniel was an authority not
to be questioned ("the decision
/is/ made", when of course he meant "the decision /has been/ made"),
I would never
have volunteered my time. I had hoped I could help, but I see now
that I can't. Que lastima.
I still believe OpenOffice is a great product, and I will continue
to use and support it, and help
where I can.
