Hi, Wolfgang. In GNU/Linux (using Xorg and KDE, maybe is the same if
Xfree and
KDE are used in BSD based systems) the second method only works if the
option "Show windows content when moving" (or something like that) is
enabled. Where is this option depends on desktop you are using. In
Kubuntu this option is unreachable from "control panel", and the only
way to do it from GUI -that I Know- is by clicking on ¿control button?
(above and left
from the menu bar) > Configuring windows behavior > Moving.
Maybe would be good to compile data about how enabling this option in
diferent operative systems (including variants).
