In above chapter of the Getting Started Guide, subchapter Using
dockable/floating windows (page 6 in the separate chapter 4), you
refer to two methods of docking a window. When using the first
method, you mention that this may not work depending on your
'system's window manager settings'. I wonder what this is and how I
can change these settings as some of my fellow translators cannot
use this method.
I hope someone knows more about this than I do. As far as I know,
this isn't something you can change, if your system doesn't allow it.
What operating systems are being used by the translators who cannot
use that method?
The translators use Windows XP, as I do. I can use the first method,
but they cannot. :-(
Thanks again and best regards
While we're discussing Windows... Being that Vista is quite a departure
from XP, has anybody made a listing of any changes between XP and Vista.
There must be many.
Also, I 'm not so willing to accept that there are not any (many) areas
where OOo on Vista may not operate as it did with XP. I find that some
OOo functions crash or hang up, whereas those same functions never posed
any XP problems.
For instance, there are only a **very small** number of Firewall
applications that work with Vista. Even the extremely ubiquitous Zone
Alarm is still not Vista-compliant--months after Vista's betas and its
release some three months ago.
