As a mere youngster -- by your lights :-) -- of 65, I deeply regret :-(
any _accidental_ rudeness I may have shown to a senior colleague.
(We're not old; we're living links to the past! :-)
The problem sounded interesting; somewhat akin to inserting rows into a
table, with subsequent updating of position-dependent links. As you
point out, a simple batch file would be no help at all. OTOH, a
_generated_ batch file was one option I was considering, as an
alternative to working directly through the API.
My offer remains open, though I rather doubt that you would wish to
outsource the fun part! :-)
