Gary, are you editing this chapter, or planning to? I don't want to duplicate something you are working on!

My original plan was to do reviews considering version 3 of all Writer Guide chapters in order, starting with Chapter 1.

The early chapters typically get reviewed a dozen times, so I would suggest starting with the end of the book and working forward... or start with wherever we've left off with the 2.3.x updates. Some of the later chapters haven't been reviewed in a long time.

If we were to utilize conditional text, we could do any version 2.x upkeep along with newer version 3 material at the same time without having to redo them again afterwards. Have we utilized conditional text for our own purposes before?

No, we haven't, for two main reasons:

1) It is more complicated than I think most volunteers want to deal with, and we have enough trouble getting volunteers to do anything. Heck, *I* don't want to deal with conditional text, and I'm experienced at using that sort of thing.

2) It puts an even bigger burden on whoever is "in charge" of publishing the chapters... not that anything gets published very often; far too many chapters languish for months on the review list because (with few exceptions) no one except you, me, and Michele looks at them. That's why I'm having a blitz right now, despite having "retired" from doing all this.

My advice: don't go there. Keep it simple.

I'll be interested to hear Michele's opinion.

BTW, I still can't get hidden paragraphs to work. I haven't looked up the status of the Issue for this, so perhaps I'm doing something wrong. Not that one can't use conditional hidden sections instead of paragraphs, but I mention this for completeness.
