It would help if you specified which OOo versions are causing those
malfunctions...
I notice erratic behavior with version 2.3.1, in addition to those of
the newer versions. My major version 2.3.1 problem deals with read
errors regarding pictures. It seems that some of my original
(non-OOoAuthors) work disappears after being "saved" and reopened.
Either some graphics just go "Poof!" or at other times I get a Read
Error placeholders. One recent ODT file that was loaded with over two
hundred low- to moderate-resolution photos bloated to some 85 MB and
would begin to bog down. Its DOC conversion was only about 35 MB. Then
another ODT attempt based upon a conversion of the DOC conversion would
only be some 35 MB or so. Why this behavior?
I am taking notes for MS Word migration purposes, but even working
wholly within OOo ODT files seems to be far more problematic with the
newer versions (including 2.3.1) than the older versions.
Another major irritation is version 2.3.1's saving itself at "random"
times not related to the save interval set in the Options. Have others
noticed this also?
