The behavior you report, of Writer refusing to delete an active style,
is new to me. Once upon a time (back around 2.0), Writer would delete
an active paragraph style without complaint, and the text would revert
to "Default" style. List styles may be less accommodating.
Michele is talking about list styles, not paragraph styles. Perhaps
they behave differently?
