Dan and Dave,

I have a copy of the German Base Guide. I also took a quick look at the issue referenced. I am in the process of using the "Google Translate" extension for OOo to convert the guide to English.

Any other suggestions for additions or references are quite welcome.

Andy,

Good. When you are finished, I would like a copy. I was not aware that there is a German Base Guide!

It is the one that Dave linked to. It is based on OOo v2 but still looks usable. The translation is a slow process but almost done. Hopefully by the weekend I will have it done. All of the screen shots and links will have to be redone. The styles also need to be updated to the current version. I will have to figure that out later.
Andy has provided me with a translation of the German Base Guide, and I have uploaded it to the Draft folder of the Base3 Guide folder for others to see. He is to be commended for this work. The German OOo Authors people are to be commended for their hard work as well. When the Base Guide was first envisioned when OOo 2.0 first came out, the suggestion for the guide was to us a library database. He wanted to show that Base could handle databases can handle complex databases as well as Access does. Perhaps there is a place for the basics of a database as well as for a more complex database. Andy has mentioned that he has a project which could result in a complex database. I would like to incorporate it into a Base Guide. (Perhaps an Advanced Base Guide?) There are companies presently using OOo which use complex databases. Do they have the information they need to create these databases using Base?

Dan
