Exporting a PDF should not take that long.

The point I am making is that your machine has to have something that is
terribly bogging down its computing.

I don't think so. I tried to export PDF on i-5 750 machine and unknown
but newly AMD machine. And I was a technical engineer, so I can
control and fix most problems with hardware, software, and OS.

I think there are some useless parts in my documents. When I print my
documents as PDF file, there was a warning about letter form. Or.. OOo
problem. Printing as PDF is fast, because it doesn't need any
converting operation. But in that case, I can't export titles as
bookmarks, since it is a printed thing.

Gray, have you "exported" a big document as PDF using OOo, not other
professional program?

I do all major book editing and such with FrameMaker, for obvious reasons--few, if any, problems and greater functionalities and capabilities. But, still I use OOo for smaller things and often export PDFs with it, without incident.

A ill-functioning hard drive, even with your fast i-5 unit can still bog things down. BTW, my next unit will be a homebrew i-7 with a 975 or whatever.
