Did you see my other message where I rephrased some stuff and reorganized Leo's text? I think that it still has the readability that Leo was after and the clarity that you are after. There were a couple things in there where the phrasing was just a little off. I need to find the link to the specific page on the Wiki.... But I also have 143 messages to wade through.
I read through your variant - and I think I mentioned in a reply to Leo that I preferred his version. The problem was partly the fact that the into bit was going even further in the direction I had a problem with - and secondly, some of the text refelected general voting principals as distinct from Leo's version which was more consitent with our current content.
Appologies for not putting enought time into this - just too many things to take care of. I promised Leo I would would take a good careful look at the suggestion of dropping the lead section for Leo's version - which I will do (later today or tommorow?).
