Found out the reason - (seems Xv extension totally confuses avicap, so running xawtv -noxv helps), and now I got 2 problems:
1. it doesn't save the configuration at all - I have to configure everything every time.. 2. When I press "configure" to select the codec - the program exits - log below (thats after I installed the latest binaries from avifile.sourceforge.net to /usr/lib/win32).. it seems it looks for btvvc32.dll - where to get this one? ----------error log--------------- /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libwin32-0.6.so: found A: 11 V: 41 plugins /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libvorbis_audio-0.6.so: found A: 1 V: 0 plugin /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libmpeg_audiodec-0.6.so: found A: 1 V: 0 plugin /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libmp3lame_audioenc-0.6.so: found A: 1 V: 0 plugin /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libmjpeg-0.6.so: found A: 0 V: 1 plugin /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libmad_audiodec-0.6.so: found A: 1 V: 0 plugin /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libffmpeg-0.6.so: found A: 2 V: 3 plugins /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libdivx4-0.6.so: found A: 0 V: 2 plugins /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libaudiodec-0.6.so: found A: 5 V: 0 plugins /usr/local/lib/avifile0.6/libac3pass-0.6.so: found A: 1 V: 0 plugin Uncompressed RGB video encoder created Uncompressed YUY2 video encoder created Uncompressed YV12 video encoder created No 'BitRate' value present Using Win32 dll library: divxcfvk.dll Format size 40 DivX ;-) VKI (Fast-Motion) video encoder created Total Unfree 0 bytes cnt 0 [(nil),0] No 'BitRate' value present Using Win32 dll library: divxcvki.dll Format size 40 DivX ;-) VKI (Low-Motion) video encoder created Total Unfree 0 bytes cnt 0 [(nil),0] No 'BitRate' value present Using Win32 dll library: divxc32f.dll Format size 40 DivX ;-) Fast-Motion video encoder created Total Unfree 0 bytes cnt 0 [(nil),0] No 'BitRate' value present Using Win32 dll library: divxc32.dll Format size 40 DivX ;-) Low-Motion video encoder created Total Unfree 0 bytes cnt 0 [(nil),0] Using Win32 dll library: divx.dll Format size 40 Win32 DivX4 4.0 Beta Codec video encoder created Total Unfree 24576 bytes cnt 6 [(nil),0] Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load: btvvc32.drv, /usr/lib/win32/btvvc32.drv, /usr/local/lib/win32/btvvc32.drv Win32 loader: FATAL: Could not load Win32 dll library: btvvc32.drv Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load: btvvc32.drv, /usr/lib/win32/btvvc32.drv, /usr/local/lib/win32/btvvc32.drv Win32 loader: FATAL: Could not load Win32 dll library: btvvc32.drv External func OLEAUT32.dll:161 External func OLEAUT32.dll:163 Using Win32 dll library: ir50_32.dll Format size 40 Win32 LoadLibrary failed to load: ir50_lcs.dll, /usr/lib/win32/ir50_lcs.dll, /usr/local/lib/win32/ir50_lcs.dll Indeo Video 5.04 video encoder created Total Unfree 2254 bytes cnt 44 [(nil),0] Using Win32 dll library: ir41_32.dll Format size 40 Indeo Video 4.1 video encoder created Total Unfree 576 bytes cnt 9 [(nil),0] Using Win32 dll library: ir32_32.dll Format size 40 Indeo Video 3.2 video encoder created Total Unfree 0 bytes cnt 0 [(nil),0] Using Win32 dll library: ir32_32.dll Win32 loader: FATAL: Module::CreateHandle: DRV_OPEN failed Using Win32 dll library: m3jpeg32.dll Format size 68 Segmentation fault ------------error log------------ On Tuesday 13 November 2001 14:37 pm, Zdenek Kabelac wrote: > > x11: set depth to 16 bpp > > dga: base=0xe2000000, width=1280 > > set video mode: 1280x1024, 16 bit/pixel, 2560 byte/scanline > > set framebuffer at 0xe2000000 > > /dev/video: ioctl VIDIOC_S_FBUF: Operation not permitted > > I'm not an expert here - (Eugene ?) - but isn't this a problem > (maybe try to use it as root ?) -- Hetz Ben Hamo [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Avifile mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://prak.org/mailman/listinfo/avifile
