Well, I'm currently doing it this way (o.k. I don't like black borders so I'm 
using 768x576 @100 Hz).

But there are at least 2 reasons why I prever xv-scaling:

1.) Though I don't yet have a tft-monitor, I'm thinking about to buy one as 
second monitor -- and on these monitors I don't like switching to a lower 
resolution.

2.) When I watch tv, I very often read video text, but without xv-scaling I 
can't zoom the tv-window as large as I'd like to have (768x576 are at 
1600x1200 quite small).
