Yes there is mippmapping if the texture a power of four...

However I don't think it does mipmapping on low quality (which is what I
usually use)

Sim not sure if that Power of four texture size applies if you are in low
quality mode, so a 64x64 should be faster than 65 x 65 in low quality.
