You do not have to load each one of them from different files.
any descent 3d app allows you to export one or more meshes (3d objects) in one file. in Away you can then access each one and apply a different material if you want to. the position of each mesh can be changed in Away, but it will respect the way they are assembled/positioned in your editor once loaded.

Ben,

that's exactly what I asked. I finally managed to apply material to
different faces using your method.

Since I am pretty new to actionscript and away3d, I am still studying
Fabrice's method. About using separated meshes, if I have a big 3d
shopping mall, can I use separated meshes(here my understanding is
separated meshes means separated 3d objects) for different walls? If a
shopping mall is composed of many 3d objects, is there a easy way to
put all 3d objects together with right positioning?

thanks so much, guys,

Hi Peter !!!
That's what I understood.
My way he can easilly get the material from the (name of the ) files
he used for mapping and know wish face is coupled with material.

Sorry mudong, maybe something I misunderstood ??
Anyway, those feathure can be usefull, I think...
