what do you mean by "disabled maxpoly" ? you mean you have set a maxPoly filter and passed it to renderer?
also the fact that you need to move forward for a while might be linked to your camera animation code if you just press forward key, just after reload let go once you see the track, you can see camera goes back. So the longest it takes to load your swf while the code is active, the longer it takes to get on the track...
