Cynthia, I can find her death record under the name Innocencia A. Nunes (Innoncencia A. Caldera). I cannot find her under this name on census records. There is a Mary Caldera b. Dec. 1849, married 29 years, listed with a husband Manuel D. b. Jan. 1840 both b.Portugal living in Hollister, San Benito County in 1900 census both came to US in 1857 and naturalized. 9 children born 6 children living. Children are: Antonio, Joseph and Rosa. In 1910 census, there is Manuel 70, Mary 60, b. Portugal ch. b. CA Mary 36, Francis 33, Rose 22, Joseph 26, married 40 years, 9 children born, 6 living. Manuel came to US 1857, Mary in 1869. There is a Maria A. Caldera /b. Azores, in the 1920 census who is now a widow with children Mary Reimer, stepson Carlisle Reimer, Wayne Reimer and dau. Frances Caldera. This says she came to the US from the Azores in 1867 and NA in 1870. They are also listed in 1930 census. I am still trying to find them in the 1870/1880 censuses.
Is this the right family? So far, I cannot find them on ship's manifest and might be difficult to find them that far back. But you might be able to get their Naturalizations papers. Or maybe the children's birth records would give where the parents were born or even their baptism records. Do you have her obit?
