Yes, that is the her.? Innocencia Caldera Nunes.? She was also known as Emma.?
I do have her listed in a few census records under Nunes.? She lived with her son Joseph Nunes until she died at age 94.? Her husband, Antonio Nunes, was from the island of Pico and I think I have found his birth family on the uminho website. I know that she?was related to Babe (Caldera) Hubbell, I just can't find remember how... maybe Babe is her niece? Anyway, in her obituary, her mother's name is listed as Mary Pereira.? I don't think it listed her father's name.? This is from the 1930 census.? If she was 75 in 1930, then she was born in 1854 or 1855.? Members: Name Age Joe Nunes 39 Alice Nunes 36 Leland Nunes 7 Barbara Nunes 6 Emma Nunes 75 But in the 1900 census, she is listed as Inuncia A Nunes, wife of Antone Nunes.? Her age is listed as 48 which would place her birth year as 1852.? Emma's son, Antonio, is listed twice in the 1900 census.? Below it shows him at the household of Manuel J Caldera - who I believe is his cousin since they are close in age.? Maybe Manuel J. Caldera is the son of Emma's brother, Manuel Caldera. Manuel J Caldera 29 Mary Caldera 23 Francis Caldera 22 Antonio Nunes 22 Anyway, I just haven't been able to trace any information on her prior to her marriage.? I don't know her parents names or all of the siblings.? I can't find her port and date of entry into the U.S. either. Well, thanks for your help!
