Debbie W, Log into Ancestry. At the top, where it says BLAH BLAH BLAH Family Tree is a little link that says "Tree Pages." Point at the down arrow and click "Tree Settings."
On the next page, you will see a right hand column. There's a green button there that says "Download Your GEDCOM File." I think there are screens to walk you through the rest.
