Maria Elena,

It will take a while to learn the DNA stuff. The only thing I learned
about DNA in high school was that it had 4 bases. I took a class in
college that had a little bit more, but nothing like what I learned from
going to GENEALOGY MEETINGS. Yep. When a local (or within an hour's
drive) had a speaker about DNA, I went. And I read books. And I learned.
And now I lecture on it. So check out your local genealogy society and ask
when they will have a DNA speaker. And then go to your local public
library and check out "Trace Your Roots with DNA" by Smolenyak and Turner.
It's now out of date, but the basic information is good. You only need to
read the first half. And you can also check out "DNA and Genealogy" by
Colleen Fitzpatrick.
