I was looking through some papers that a distant cousin had sent to me. The cousin had Maria's mother as "Jacinta de Freitas", but no father's name. Some other things on this page were not exactly correct, so I disregarded the mother's name after I found the "incognito" for the maternal grandparents on Maria's children's baptismal records. Perhaps her mother was known to her after all.
