I don't understand. You are researching for a Roberts and suddenly you come up with a Moraes? How does that happen?
What do you mean "someone" found your ancestor born in Conceicao? Did they point you do that specific baptism? Did they close their eyes and pick a Jose? Why do you think 8 June 1850? When I signed up for a basic genealogy course many years ago, we were taught "Who said it, when did they say it, and how did they know?" Those 3 things. I don't want you going down the wrong path here. I don't remember every detail and it wasn't stated here, but I don't remember the surname Moraes in connection with Roberts.
