Hi Linda! Thank you for those links! I have mainly been on the Ancestry.com site and forgot what resources are out there to check. I will have to see if there is a connection.
We were recently told that Manuel Gomes passed before my FIL was born in 1941 so the dates are off but could have been remembered incorrectly? I did see Manuel listed as head of household in the 1920 Stanislaus census but was not in the 1930 census, even though his wife and children were. She was still listed as married and not as a widow. A mystery! We are still searching for where Manuel was born in the Azores. The search continues! Thanks again!
