Dear Rolf, Do not forget that the phrases in English, "Let," as used in the KJV did not express a wish, but was a more softer form of command than "thou shalt" or "you will." It is too easy to bring Indo-European grammar into Hebrew grammar. Modern English has reflected the loss of this type of command understanding to be one of wish or may or may not.
