   It didn't stop the Holocaust because after Jesus was no longer physically present,
    the Christian community did not have any divinely guided authority to which they could all
   turn, which would keep them on the straight path of moral uprightness.
 
 
It didn't stop the Holocaust because human beings have the capacity to sin in spite of having high ideals. For Catholics there is a clear authority structure which they believe to be infallible and this structure provides individual Catholics with instruction and guidance. That doesn't mean that every Catholic will infallibly and sinlessly follow that instruction and guidance. And the same is true of Bahais. I know a Bahai who has done drugs and fornicates. The UHJ's existence didn't stop him from acting this way.
 
There is no difference.
