Sebenarnya mengenai blow-by gass ini kalo dulu saya diterangkan waktu 
training bisa menyebabkan polusi jika langsung dilepas ke udara.Oleh 
karena itu gas ini "diakali" dengan cara dibakar kembali ke ruang mesin 
agar dapat ditekan polusinya...Tp ya sebenarnya konsekuensinya power agak 
turun karena udara masuk yg ke intake manifold tidak murni udara bersih, 
melainkan ada sebagian udara sisa pembakaran "blow by gas" ini...Cmiiw 
yah..Berikut hasil googling di wikipedia:As an engine operates, 
high-pressure gases are contained within the combustion chamber and 
prevented from passing into the crankcase (containing the crankshaft and 
other parts) between the side of the piston and the cylinder bore by 
piston rings which seal against the cylinder. However, some amount of gas 
always leaks past the piston rings into the crankcase. This amount is very 
small in a new or properly rebuilt engine, provided that the piston rings 
and cylinder walls are correctly "broken in", and increases as the engine 
wears. Scratches on the cylinder walls or piston rings, such as those 
caused by foreign objects entering the engine, can cause large amounts of 
leakage. This leaked gas is known as blow-by because the pressure within 
the cylinders blows it by the piston rings. If this blow-by gas could not 
escape then pressure would build up within the crankcase.Before the 
invention of crankcase ventilation in 1928, the engine oil seals were 
designed to withstand this pressure, oil leaking to the road surface was 
accepted, and the dipstick was screwed in. The hydrocarbon rich gas would 
then diffuse through the oil in the seals into the atmosphere. 
Subsequently, it became an emissions requirement as well as a functional 
necessity that the crankcase have a ventilation system. This must maintain 
the crankcase at slightly less than atmospheric pressure and recycle the 
blow-by gas back into the engine intake. However, due to the constant 
circulation of the oil within the engine, along with the high speed 
movement of the crankshaft, an oil mist is also passed through the PCV 
system and into the intake. The oil is then either burned during 
combustion, or settles along the intake tract, causing a gradual build-up 
of residue inside the inlet path. For this reason many engine tuners 
choose to replace the PCV system with an oil catch can and breather filter 
which vents the blow-by gases directly to atmosphere and retains the oil 
in a small tank (or returns it to the sump), although this technically 
fails to meet most engine emission legislation.

AFAIK, soal OCT yang menyaring seluruh oli yang nebeng uap dari blow by 
gas ini ada beberapa pihak yang pro dan kontra juga. 
Saya gak tau om Saftari ikutan milist ini ato gak, atau mungkin ikut tapi 
gak mantau. Tapi om Saft ini termasuk yang menganut pandangan bahwa oli 
yang nguap itu memang diperlukan untuk melumasi bagian-bagian tertentu. 
Menurut beliau, selain bisa membuat polusi, ternyata ada keuntungan lain 
dengan masuknya lagi uap oli itu ke intake yaitu untuk melumasi intake 
valve seat dan batang intake valve biar gak cepat aus. 
 
Sementara banyak pihak lain yang berpendapat bahwa tidak ada keuntungan 
teknis sama sekali dengan memasukkan uap oli itu ke intake, selain cuman 
bikin kotor ajah.

Kalo saya mah, yang dari PCV-intake malah saya ambilin udara dingin dari 
luar pake filter kecil ajah. Yah itung2, kebersihan ruang bakar dan busi 
lebih terjaga. 
Nah buat Om Ajat, OCT made in Cianjur ini saringan dalemnya apa ya? 
Kira-kira yang tersaring tuh seluruh uap oli, ato yang ringan-ringan masih 
bisa lanjut jalan?

Apa fungsi OCT? Fungsi utama OCT adalah menangkap uap oli yang terhisap 
oleh saluran manipol masuk kedalam ruang bakar, sehingga udara yang 
dihisap oleh mesin didalam ruang bakar benar-benar bersih tidak tercampur 
oleh uap minyak oli mesin, sehingga dapat menekan polusi gas buang 
sekaligus menyempurnakan pembakaran di ruang bakar mesin.

Menangkap Uap Oli
Kenapa Uap Oli Harus Ditangkap ? Pada saat mesin mencapai suhu kerja 
sekitar 80-90 derajat celcius, ruang oli mesin mendapatkan tekanan dan 
panas yang tinggi, sehingga oli mesin menguap dan dihisap oleh saluran 
masuk melalui sebuah saluran PCV. Pada kondisi tertentu keadaan ini tidak 
ada masalah, namun dalam kurun waktu yang akan datang kondisi ini akan 
membuat saluran masuk bahan bakar menjadi cepat kotor, dan polusi gas 
buang yang dihasilkan pun relatif agak tinggi kadar CO2 karena ada zat uap 
oli yang ikut terbakar.
