As you know I did apply to the CG the first month that I arrived in Paris.
AvF decide to keep me waiting around the CG barracks for a month while the
brave men of France where fighting. He then decided to blame his clerks and
buy me off as if I was a mere tradesman rather than a Marquis. As you well
know all good commanders take responsibility for the actions of those under
them he did not. In my response to him I did not at any time accept the
offered bribe or request to join again. I assumed that since he forgot
about his promise to admit me he would forget about the 500 crowns. I have
already instructed my steward to immediate return the crowns.
With my actions involving Flo that is mostly private. I will tell you this.
I planned on visiting Flo to help cheer her up concerning AvF recent
actions. As all of Paris does know, Flo has been very upset with him.
While I was with her things changed. We both know the affect a beautiful
Lady can have on a man. I will leave it at that.
As to settle things with AvF the man has made no effort to contact me.
Instead has decided to whine to His Majesty, You, and all of France. I
still await to hear from his second or him. I will be more then happy to
discuss this issue with him.
Since the Colonel of the CG is of a forgetful nature and refuses to take
responsibility for himself or his men actions. I have decided to join a
regiment with a more dependable officer at the head. Hence me coming to you
about the offer you made to join the King's Musketeers. After the recent
events I will admit my mistake in going to the CG in the first place.
I do hope you will reconsider about the party. You are consider by all a
gentlemen and I for one would like to call you friend.
