Hi Xavier,
Sorry for not responding sooner. The license fee would not limit the time, but it would have to be paid every month. If this is something that you cannot get approved, I think we can work something out where you pay an additional fee up front, but only one time. Let me know your thoughts. Such licenses don't allow to put limits on the time a file can be distributed, so I'm not sure of what you meant. Thanks! Xavier. One last question: is there an issue to distribute the generated audio files as part of a Free Software project? We release our code/data under the GNU AGPLv3 and Creative Commons CC-BY-SA. Xavier. If you don't mind me asking, how do you plan to monetize the free game? Our pricing model typically works off the number of words converted, and with user generated content, that can build very quickly. How much speech do > you need to convert (time, words, etc)? What languages and voices do > you require? Sure - it's a free software Web game, where the player has the role of a secret agent. We would use the voices to give instructions to the player, and walk him through the mission. At the beginning, the volume of words would be low (about 1.5K/2K words / mission, we currently have 8 missions). But if the concept is validated, it would likely increase a lot - especially because we plan to let the players create their own missions. Xavier.
