Please, forgive my angry tone, but I'm upset.
(Please forgive my poor English as well).

I just want to sync contacts and calendar - possibly tasks - in Linux
environment (Ubuntu 9.4), with evolution or Kontact.

What use is the syncing service if accentuated characters are ignored -
worse, the source records extracted from the BlackBerry are TRUNCATED at
each diacritic mark ?

I was happy to get a (almost simple, just a couple of hours to install
all the stuff) Linux solution to replace OpenOffice, and I am much
disappointed - not to say "deceived". A PIM with no sync function is of
weak use, and a sync function that mistreats diacritics is just humbug
(as Scrooge would say).

I'm afraid I'll have to go back to Windows to get a correct PIM
application, with fair syncing features.

Please let me know if you intend to solve that issue, and when.

Nevertheless, cheerfully,

Pierre Pietri
