I'm sorry you felt deceived, but it is listed in the Known Issues section of the documentation. (http://netdirect.ca/barry) The problem is that the Blackberry's USB database protocol seems to change when international characters are used in its data, and no error is given in some cases. The records are just ignored. So in order to properly support international characters, more reverse engineering is needed. We don't get any help from RIM and are not privy to any secret documents, so the work is a manual process.
