The only real IMAX 3D theatre in the Bay Area is the one at the AMC
Loews Metreon, near Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco.
It's also currently the largest IMAX 3D screen in the world (80' x 100',
with stadium-style seating for 480 audience members in 3D
configuration).
(Note: Not the largest IMAX screen in the world, which is reportedly one
in Darling Harbour, Sydney.)
Thanks, Rick and everyone for the advice. We decided to bite the bullet
and go to the city on Sunday. We'll park where I work (Castro & El
Camino) and hop the Caltrain into the city and make something of a day
of it.
I'm sure I'll have something to say Monday night. ;)
