I use all avenues to avoid using the Standard File dialog when it comes time to save a newly created file. I also pretty much always want to preserve things like font choice for a new file that comes from an old one. So I either tweak to Finder and do a copy or, more often, use the bbedit tool from a worksheet so I can specify a file name and directory right away without ever seeing Standard File. I hated StdFilePut in Classic and it seems worse in OS neXt. But then BareBones has removed some of the choices I like to preserve anyway. Even a Finder copy loses stuff now. -- Applescript syntax is like English spelling: Roughly, though not thoroughly, thought through. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Have a feature request?
