Ok, to revisit this issue for a little while. I powered down my lappy, removed the pcie wireless card and then place that card in my wife's identical machine and behold it shows up as the correct device and functions.
I placed the card from my wife's machine in my machine and booted up, did lspci and it does not appear in the list of device. I have searched the bios thoroughly and have found no option to turn on/off the wireless card. The only thing I have is a switch on the front of the machine that will turn off the radio. I have also regressed back to the previous kernel that worked with my system and is the one on my wife's computer. Kernel Version 2.6.22.4-65.fc7 Is there something in the b43/bcm43xx code or firmware that could have disabled the bios support for the card? Any thoughts or ideas. -- John Registered Linux User 263680, get counted at http://counter.li.org _______________________________________________ Bcm43xx-dev mailing list [email protected] https://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/bcm43xx-dev
