Yes, I did reset the bios to the defaults.  And you are correct, there
are only 3 or 4 items that can be reset.

I have considered reflashing the bios, but I would have to clear some
drive space and reinstall vista.  The only flashing program I have
found on HP.com is the winflash utility that is designed to run under
windows vista, they also have an xp version as well.

I did not personally want to reinstall vista, but if necessary I can
move some files around and make the second hard drive the primary for
an installation.
