Looks like this is an Asus-specific issue. Can you try flashing the attached
SPROM file (with a modified MAC address, of course) into your card to see if
it results in *any* transmission? (Back up your SPROM first!) This is from a
non-Asus 4318/02, extracted from a working card. (I can't test it myself
now, as I don't have a usable Linux system ATM.)

Also, what radio is WL-138G V2 using? Is it the same radio as other 4318/02
cards? Someone with a broken WL-138G V2 should check. (With a broken one,
since you need to remove the radio's cover.)
