I don't know about Larry's card, but mine doesn't transmit at all, except for maybe noise. When I tried to associate with my AP, while kismetting on an RT73 USB card on the same channel placed 1M from my 4318's antenna, I couldn't record any transmission. Trying the other way around (associating through the RT73 and kismetting on the 4318) shown the association packets in Kismet.
