Dear Thomas,
This is a dificult one to answer. I hazard a guess without having a
photograph of the set up to dowse from that the wires are acting as antennae
for Extra Low Frequency [ELF] waves.
Radionic devices can be as complicated as you like, or as simple as running
a piece of wire, or writing a rate on a piece of paper with a witness of
where the emanations are directed to.
