Thank you Michael, I have had no contact with Dr. Grussendorf for some years. I kind of thought he would have passed on by now but I'd heard nothing. To my knowledge he had two children, a son (whom I never met) and, who I believe showed no interest in farming, and a younger daughter, Hilda.
A couple of things I remember about him was his huge "farmers"' hands and his and his wife's hospitality when I visited their farm. Did you know Dr. Grussendorf appears in a National Film Board film (now video) titled "A Sense of Humus"? How is it that you came to know him? Are you from Manitoba?
