right
Sumit, so can you take a stand and stick to it like a man, and then we will take
it all the way:
    - you say that every distribution of linux is a different
operating system. ie despite teh kernel being teh same and teh system software
being teh same the difference in the way the packaging happens, the installer
that is used and the online support that is available each flavour of linux is a
different operating system with regards to security.
    - you say, no they are all the same operating system and
that a flaw in linux is a flaw to security of the system itself irrespective of
the distribution of linux.

stick
to one of these and try not to be vague. if you defer i want _facts_ from you
regarding what makes the redhat packing superior. dont give me any of that
'everyone uses redhat so everything is fine' as fact, where i come from
everyone uses debian... HellOO ! (and strangely RMS and the wagon dont
appreciate RHL too much) and distributions aside i personally like putting
my lilo in its rightful place by hand with a little of good old diskedit to
help.
so
lets have your facts.

ACLs :
Unix teh system by design never had this kind of concept. It is the WinNT line
of systems and IBMs Aix that did anything about with ACLs. Maybe you should go
and read ESRs version of unix history. There he plays the lack of a decent
security architecture or an object model for the operating and an inflexible
file system as 'merits' of the system.

WinNT
has had it securtity model form its original defintion in 89.

Please
do not speak of vague capabilites uless you can give technical facts. I want to
hear yours, since you made the claim :
"Having EAL4 for SuSE or Windows doesn't really mean that they are secure
than mighty RH Linux. (For a matter of fact 9.0 release ships with ACLs, that
were a part of other flavours of UNIX)."
Having
copied (once again) a feature that was there in other systems for years does not
make it any more secure (lets not speak of innovative for now). Lets have your
facts.
